Liz's Bike Marathon

At the start - 5:00 am, with Dani Bartlett of 3M sending me off in the quiet morning hours.

At St Joseph Health Care and Sodexo - no one was there at that hour, but they had made their donation at the Local earlier.

When I got to Cooper Standard in Glencoe, they had organized a "bike off", where a salaried and an hourly person rode stationary bikes for 20 minutes competing who could go the farthest in that time.  Donations were made based on who you thought would win.  They raised almost $800 by doing this.  It was great fun and very imaginative fundraising.

Crown North America in St Thomas, where Sharon Zinn met me with the generous donation from their Unit Fund in support of My Sister's Place.

With Peter Koyunion of GENTEK, also very generous and supportive.  They had done a raffle of T-shirts and a 50/50 draw to raise money.  It was very encouraging to meet the people here.

Taken at Martin Rea.  Very nice people who were very encouraging and wished me all the best.  This man's name is Arnie

Dave Mayo from London Hospital Linen Service - these guys were great.  I was able to use their washroom and fill up my water bottles before being on my way again.  Once again I was in awe of how encouraging and generous the people of Local 27 were towards this cause.

Conference Cup, also very happy to support My Sister's Place.  They had 3 50/50 draws, and even the winner donated her winnings.  Again, very nice people, friendly and enthusiastic -  a pleasure to bike there!

Electro Motive, they had set up a water station for me  - very cool and appreciated on a warm day.

This was like coming home - my own workplace, General Dynamics.  This is Craig McLarty, our chairperson who stayed late to meet me, they had bought me supper from Harveys (burger, coke and fries!).  A generous donation as a result of a gate collection held there the week before.

This is me coming into Caledon Tube in St Mary's.  This was the last place I rode to, arriving at 7:00 pm.

Cheque presentation at MSP.

It had been a great day for the ride, the people had been encouraging and supportive, I was happy to be a part of this.
